The door is now open to the Psychic Temple

After years of planning, renovating, and getting up to code, the door to the Psychic Temple finally opened for business today.

The second-oldest commercial building in Long Beach has been gutted, reinforced, retrofitted, and turned into a state-of-the-art creative office.

The building’s old bones go well with computers, buffered by plenty of artwork. The fhird-floor yarn art by HotTea adds a shock of color.

And, of course, there are the library murals by James Jean. The area is still a work in progress, and so are most of the work spaces. More photos will be shared when the boxes are unpacked and the dust settles.

But my favorite space might be the basement with informal meeting spots and filtered natural light from the sidewalk glass.

Before leaving, I saw the HotTea manual laborers checking out the yarn. Congrats and thanks to them and everyone who did everything to make the renovation and moving possible.

Time to start working, more to come…
